Sorry to butt in, but he's doing it again. I went from the masterpiece of today's earlier show onto Richmond 11/1/85 (the site of one of my greatest epiphanies). If I've heard a better Comes A Time, I can't remember when. The emotion in Jerry's voice is as powerful as I've heard him. Brings back the energy of that night as if it was yesterday.

If nothing else, the Comes a Time is worth a few minutes of your time (either as a first time listen, or a review if its been awhile).

Hint: The AUDs here are really superior to the Dick's Picks release. You need the full spectrum of the event, including the crowd response to what is going on.

OK, sorry for the intrusion. As you were.

on the aud, you can hear me barfing on some guy's shoes. wonder what happend to him....

These shows were definitely right up there with the most fun I ever have - kind of strange since the Dead really, truly sucked from 84 thru 86 as we know

I kinda figured it was you. The stench follows me still. As for the typical quality of shows during this time, I agree that the majority of the ones I saw at least were definitely lackluster. The shows from this brief run were certainly the exception to the rule.

as were red rocks, the greeks and venture from the summer of 84 (at least I had fun). Believe me, I caught some groaners during those times.... "Jerry frog" on vocals.

One of my favorite lines from Hitchhiker's Guide is quite appropos for this time in Jerry's life:

"You're looking great. Really very, very fat and unwell."

Whoa whoa whoa buddy. Let's just hope you're being sarcastic with your last sentence. Everyone on this site knows that the best show ever is from 1985.

What show is the best show in your opinion? Truly curious. Always up for a good 85 show.

auds are allright...I'm kind of a soundboard guy myself...never a huge '85 fan, but 11-01-1985 is worth checking out...Comes a Time is good, check out the jam where they completely break it down almost to space, then Jerry pulls it back together...he sings decently too, not the pudding throat that he usually gives us circa 84-87...

Great call Hollow one!! I would only add that if you are going to give this one a listen you should also check out the Lost Sailor>drums>space>Saint that follows the aforementioned Comes A Time and the She Belongs To Me after that.
